Deomary is one and half hour walk from Norbugang village. The trek starts through the open farmland and then enters into the primary forest of the park. Then it gradually descends down to the saltlick spot which is created by the natural landslides due to heavy monsoon rain. The visitors quietly sit above the site and wait for the animals to come for the saltlick. Since the observation spot is above the saltlick spot there is no disturbance to the wild animals.
Yes, the short trek is completely safe for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. Experienced guides will accompany you throughout the trip, ensuring your safety and well-being.
You may encounter a variety of wild animals, including elephants, gaurs, wild boars, tigers, leopards, deers, and wild dogs. These animals may be seen either visiting the salt licks for minerals or hunting prey in the area.
Unlike traditional wildlife safaris conducted via car or elephant, this community safari offers a unique and immersive experience. You’ll trek through pristine forests, observe diverse birdlife, and learn about animal behavior in their natural habitat.
The safari can be a day program, starting early in the morning or later in the afternoon. You’ll either wait for animals to visit the salt licks during the day or observe them in the evening before returning after dark.
Depending on the chosen program, you may be provided with packed breakfast and tea at the observation point. Comfortable transportation to and from the starting point is also typically included.
